What Does Error Code E50 Mean On A Zanussi Washing Machine?
The E50 error code on a Zanussi washing machine indicates a motor fault. However, that’s all it indicates because unless you are an engineer and can enter the special diagnostic display that’s all you can get.
Unfortunately this error code isn’t listed at all by Zanussi because it is an error code for engineers only. On entering the special diagnostic display the engineer will see a different error code to point them directly to the fault.
If you see error code E50 displayed on your Zanussi or John Lewis washing machine, contact a technician immediately and don’t try using the appliance until it has been inspected.
What Does Error Code E50 Relate To?

Although we can’t diagnose the specific fault, we do know that it is related to the motor in some way. We can be certain of this because there are only 2 other error codes in the E50 range which are E51 and E52.
Both of these relate to motor faults but even this is ambiguous because E51 indicates that the motor power triac has short circuited. This could be related to the motor or it could be one of the triacs on the PCB (printed circuit board).
Which could have developed a problem due to a short circuit somewhere else in the system.
However, error code E52 indicates a fault with either the motor or the drum being jammed, causing the motor to struggle.
What Action Should You Take If The E50 Error Code Is Displayed On Your Zanussi (Or John Lewis) Washing Machine?
