We have been asked this question a few times now so we thought we’d write a short article to answer it fully. The short answer is yes, you can put Zoflora in a washing machine, and yes you can use Zoflora in with your washing (as long as it is diluted correctly).

What Is Zoflora?

Zoflora is a concentrated disinfectant that comes in a number of different fragrances and claims to kill 99.9% of bacteria even in its diluted form. All it takes are 2 capfuls of Zoflora diluted into a 750ml spray bottle of water to protect your home from bacteria and and even some of the more contagious viruses. This makes it a great disinfectant to use anywhere around your home. On pet baskets, cupboard doors, floors, worktops, pet litter trays, dishcloths, sponges and washing machines.

When it comes to using cooler temperature washing programs on washing machines, there’s always the worry that germs and bacteria will not be completely banished from your clothes. There are several disinfectants on the market nowadays specifically designed to be used at lower temperatures in washing machines. Zoflora is a tried and tested disinfectant that has been on the supermarket shelves for many years and can safely be used in washing machines to remove bacteria and germs from clothes during a wash cycle.

Please Note Zoflora is a disinfectant and like all disinfectants it should not be mixed with any other cleaning products like bleaches or sodium bicarbonate for reasons of safety. However it can be safely used with most detergents.

How To Use Zoflora In The Washing Machine With Clothes

If you are washing some particularly smelly or dirty garments like socks, sportswear or towels, adding Zoflora can really make the difference when it comes to removing the bacteria that causes smells. It’s also great for washing baby clothes or those from an ill person. As well as pet blankets or bedding.

Just add 1 capful of Zoflora to the fabric conditioner drawer in the washing machine and wash your clothing on your regular wash cycle. If you have a washing machine with a drum capable of washing 9kg or more, add 2 capfuls of Zoflora and if you’re washing an exceptionally small amount use ½ capful.

Don’t worry about leaving any residue behind because as long as you’ve used the correct amount there will be no residue left in your clothes.

Zoflora Can Also Be Used On Dry Clothes

Sometimes clothes get that stale smell about them even though they are clean and dry. In many cases this is because they haven’t been used for some time which allows them to pick up smells from cooking etc.. To remove that stale smell just dilute 1 capful of Zoflora into 400ml of water in a spray bottle and spray the clothes.

This will also work on upholstery at home or in the car, bedding including pet bedding and other surfaces around your home.

Zoflora Can Also Be Used On A Cleaning Cycle In The Washing Machine

Sometimes washing machines begin to get a foul smell which is noticeable as soon as you open the machine’s door. This is almost always caused by a buildup of bacteria in the machine. Washing machine manufacturers recommend using a service hot wash once a month to combat this.

To make certain that all of the germs and bacteria have gone, add 2 capfuls to the machine and run the hot service wash as normal. To wash down the exterior of your washing machine, add 1 capful of Zoflora to a bowl containing 400ml of water and use a cloth to wipe the outside of the machine.
