Cooking a pork joint in an air fryer is such an easy and fast way to get a roast cooked. Air fryers are well known for cooking great food in a short space of time and cooking roast pork in the air fryer is no different.
Which Joint Of Pork Can You Use In An Air Fryer?
You can use pretty much any joint of pork you like to make roast pork in the air fryer. We prefer to use something tender like a pork loin joint because they’re best suited for fast cooking.
We’d definitely recommend keeping away from tougher cuts of pork like the shoulder for example.
If you like pork crackling with your roast pork joint, you’ll need to ensure the joint has the skin attached.
The following recipe works just as well for pork with or without the skin but obviously there will be no crackling without a skin.
How To Make Crackling
If you do want to make crackling with your pork roast, you’ll need to start your preparations a full 24 hours before cooking. You will need to score the rind (skin) about halfway through the fat all over the joint using a sharp knife.
Be sure to not cut through to the meat beneath the fat layer. You then need to rub salt into the cuts you have made ensuring that the salt gets right into the cuts. Then place the pork joint in the fridge for about 24 hours and check on it every so often and remove any liquid that appears on the surface.
