Can You Put Gravy In An Air Fryer? (read this first)

Whilst it is possible to cook gravy in an air fryer, the process is so involved which is why gravy is best made on the hob. The problem you have when making gravy is it needs constant or almost constant attention.

While it’s easy to give the gravy constant attention on a hob or stove top, it’s a bit more involved when using an air fryer. Gravy needs stirring regularly to cook properly which is fine on the hob.

But in the air fryer, it involves opening the basket to stir the pot which interrupts the flow of hot air. This means the gravy would take so long to cook in the air fryer that the rest of the meal would be stone cold.

Gravy needs to be stirred and reduced to get it to the correct thickness and consistency which can really only be done successfully on the stove top.
