How To Cook Kale In An Air Fryer

This simple recipe makes the most of the air fryer’s ability to cook food crisp.

Ingredients

  • 100g (3 cups) of Kale
  • 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon of Salt

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180 C (350 F)
  2. Wash and dry the kale
  3. Slice the kale leaves into thin strips
  4. Place the kale strips into the air fryer basket 
  5. Season with salt and spray with oil
  6. Cook for 2 minutes
  7. Shake the basket and cook for a further 1 minute
  8. Serve

Air Fried Kale Cooking Tips

  • You can leave the thick stalks in the kale leaves or remove them if you prefer
  • As all air fryers are different, cooking times are for guidance only
  • You can add 1 teaspoon of paprika to add flavour
  • You can place an air fryer rack on top of the kale to prevent it from flying around in the air fryer

How To Make Kale Crisps In An Air Fryer

You can make tasty kale crisps in around 10 minutes using this simple recipe.

Ingredients

  • 100g (3 cups) of Kale
  • 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon of Salt

Method

  1. Wash and dry the kale remove the spine of the leaves
  2. Tear the leaves into bite sized pieces
  3. Spray the leaves with oil
  4. And sprinkle with salt
  5. Place the kale pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer
  6. Place a air fryer wire rack over the kale
  7. Air fry at 190 C (375 F) for 3 minutes
  8. Remove the rack and shake the kale pieces
  9. Replace the rack and cook for a further 2 minutes or until crispy
  10. Serve

  • You can use any type of cabbage leaves for this, it doesn’t have to only be kale
  • You can use any seasonings you prefer
  • Use a Spray bottle or oil mister for coating the kale in oil

You can stick to using just salt or you could use;

  • Chilli Flakes
