Thawing Frozen Lobster Tails Before Air Frying

When cooking frozen lobster tails in an air fryer, it’s essential to thaw them properly beforehand. Thawing allows for even cooking and better texture. Here are 3 different methods you can use to thaw your lobster tails:

  • Method 1: Thawing Them In The Refrigerator
Place the frozen lobster tails in a sealable plastic bag or container to prevent any drips or leaks. Put them in the refrigerator and allow them to thaw for about 24 hours. This slow thawing process helps maintain the quality of the lobster meat.
  • Method 2: Quick thawing in the microwave or air fryer
If you’re short on time, you can use the defrost setting on your microwave (or even your air fryer in some instances) to thaw the lobster tails. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for defrosting seafood, as microwave/air fryer times can vary. Take care not to start cooking the lobster tails during the defrosting process.
  • Method 3: Cold water thawing
If you need to thaw the lobster tails quicker, you can use the cold water method. All you have to do is place the frozen lobster tails in a sealed plastic bag and submerge them in cold water. Change the water every 30 minutes to keep it cold. Thawing with this method usually takes about 1 to 2 hours, depending on the size of the tails.

Once the lobster tails are fully thawed, you can proceed with air frying your lobster.
