How To Make Baked Camembert In An Air Fryer

This air fried baked camembert will be a hit at any gathering, Christmas party, birthday bash or even simple evening snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 Camembert Wheel

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180 C (350 F)
  2. Remove all plastic and paper packaging from the wheel of camembert, if it came in a wooden box, put it back into the wooden box once all of the packaging has been removed
  3. If it never came in a wooden box, place the unwrapped camembert in an oven proof dish or fashion a bowl using aluminium foil
  4. Using a sharp knife, cut a large X into the top of the camembert wheel rind
  5. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes until it feels slightly soft to the touch
  6. Serve

Air Fryer Baked Camembert Cooking Tips

  • Be sure to preheat the air fryer before placing the camembert wheel into the basket, this ensures that the cheese is cooked all through
  • Cooking times are for guidance because all air fryers are different
  • This works for brie too!
  • You could add a few slices of garlic into the slits in the top of the camembert for added flavour if you want
  • Only use a full wheel of camembert, not slices because as the cheese melts, there’s nothing to prevent it oozing all over the air fryer if it’s sliced

How To Make Breaded Camembert Wedges In An Air Fryer

You can make individual sized pieces of crispy camembert in the air fryer in less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

Ingredients

  • 200g (7 ounce) pack of Camembert cut into 10 wedges
  • 50g (1 ½ ounces) of Plain Flour
  • 60g (2 ounces) of Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Large Egg (beaten)

Method

  1. Set up a dipping station by placing the flour in one bowl, the beaten egg in the 2nd bowl and the breadcrumbs in the 3rd bowl
  2. Dredge the camembert slices in flour
  3. Then dip in egg
  4. Then roll in breadcrumbs
  5. Arrange the breadcrumbed camembert slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring there is a space between each one (you might have to cook in batches)
  6. Air fry at 200 C (400 F) for 6 minutes
  7. Turn each piece and air fry for a further 6 minutes

  • You could add paprika or cayenne pepper to the flour for extra flavour if you prefer
